Medical Counselling Committee releases NEET SS Round 2 results and updates

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and various state authorities have released several updates regarding the 2025-2026 medical and dental admission cycles in India.

For NEET SS (Super Speciality) 2025, the MCC has declared the provisional Round 2 seat allotment results for DM, MCh, and DNB SS courses. Following Supreme Court directions, 153 vacant in-service seats from Tamil Nadu were added to the seat matrix. Additionally, the MCC removed 10 seats from the Round 2 matrix in Assam, Maharashtra, and Karnataka due to duplicate entries. Candidates must report to allotted institutes between August 14 and August 20.

Regarding undergraduate admissions, the Madhya Pradesh Directorate of Medical Education is set to release the NEET UG 2026 merit list, with choice filling scheduled for August 15. In Odisha, the provisional state merit list for MBBS and BDS under the 85% state quota was released, with the final list expected on August 14.

For dental admissions, the MCC has released the NEET MDS 2026 Information Bulletin and Counselling Scheme, outlining the registration and seat allotment process for the 50% All India Quota and Deemed Universities.

In a legal development, the Madras High Court directed the MCC to reopen the NEET UG-2026 portal for a British citizen with OCI status to correct a category selection error.
