Madrid bullfighting event highlights Álvaro Serrano and Antonio Ferrera
During the first novillada of the San Isidro festival at Las Ventas in Madrid, young torero Álvaro Serrano delivered a performance that earned him the coveted Puerta Grande. Observers noted his composure, ambition and precise technique, describing the bout as a “step forward” in his career.
In the same program, Antonio Ferrera appeared in the short‑lived ‘Partido de Resina’. While the overall event suffered from low attendance and a lack of excitement, Ferrera’s two bouts were praised for skill and bravado, standing out amid an otherwise underwhelming showing.
Both riders attracted significant applause from the demanding Madrid audience, underscoring the enduring appeal of bullfighting traditions in the capital.
