Madrid Court expands investigation into Alberto González Amador

The Provincial Court of Madrid has overturned a previous judicial decision, authorizing the Civil Guard's Central Operative Unit (UCO) to expand its investigation into businessman Alberto González Amador. The court ruled that investigators may now access tax and Social Security information to cross-reference with existing banking data.

This expansion is part of a second judicial front investigating potential corruption and bribery related to Amador's economic ties with the Quirón Salud group. Specifically, authorities are looking into a suspected 500,000 euro commission involving Quirón Prevención executive Fernando Camino.

The decision follows appeals from the Madrid Prosecutor's Office, which argued that the previous restriction to bank accounts alone was insufficient. Notably, the defense for González Amador did not oppose the request for more extensive data, expressing interest in a swift conclusion to the investigation.
