Madrid corruption investigation into Alberto González Amador

Overview

A judicial investigation in Madrid is examining allegations of business corruption and kickbacks involving businessman Alberto González Amador and Fernando Camino, an executive at Quirón Prevención. The probe initially focused on a €500,000 transaction involving the purchase of the company Círculo de Belleza SL, which authorities noted appeared disproportionate to the firm’s reported turnover.

Following this, the Provincial Court of Madrid authorized the Civil Guard’s Central Operative Unit (UCO) to expand the investigation. The court ruled that investigators may cross-reference banking data with information from the Tax Agency and the General Social Security Treasury. This expanded scope aims to investigate an alleged €500,000 bribe potentially linked to commissions from large-scale face mask purchases. This legal proceeding remains separate from existing tax fraud and document falsification charges against González Amador.
