Madrid court sentences four to prison in 400kg cocaine bust
The Provincial Court of Madrid has sentenced four individuals to ten years in prison and imposed a 40 million euro fine for trafficking 400 kilograms of cocaine. The drugs were transported via air from Colombia to Spain in an undercover operation conducted in April 2023.
The defendants, consisting of one Dominican citizen and three Colombians, were caught during a controlled delivery. During the legal proceedings, two other suspects previously fled from justice. While the defense attempted to challenge the role of the undercover agents involved in the operation, the court issued sentences close to the 11-year term requested by the prosecution.
