Cocaine trafficking sentencing in Spain
Overview
A Madrid court has sentenced four individuals to ten years in prison and issued a 40 million euro fine following a cocaine trafficking case. The operation, which involved the transport of 400 kilograms of cocaine from Colombia to Spain via air, was conducted through an undercover operation in April 2023.
The defendants, including one Dominican citizen and three Colombians, were apprehended during a controlled delivery. While the defense challenged the involvement of undercover agents, the court issued sentences near the 11-year term requested by the prosecution. Two other suspects involved in the case previously fled from justice.
