Madrid deploys emergency resources following train accident in Toledo

The Community of Madrid has dispatched significant emergency resources to the province of Toledo following a railway accident in Urda. The deployment includes eight regional fire brigade units and eight Summa 112 medical teams, supplemented by seven fire vehicles and 16 ambulances sent from the capital.

Preliminary reports suggest a collision occurred between a Renfe AVE train and an Iryo train, resulting in the derailment of two Iryo carriages. The Iryo train was carrying 146 passengers, including an infant, while the AVE train carried 397 passengers.

The Madrid Emergency Agency (ASEM112) has established a psychosocial support station at Atocha station to assist victims and their families. Emergency services from Extremadura and other autonomous communities are also responding to the scene.
