Madrid fashion scene highlights emerging talent and historic exhibitions
Madrid's fashion scene is highlighted by two major developments. The EGO runway, a platform for emerging talent within Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, celebrated its 20th anniversary. The edition featured six debuting brands exploring themes of cultural identity and sustainability, utilizing innovative materials such as biodegradable gelatin and recycled textiles. Key awards included the Pelonio New Talent prize, awarded to Karla Aguilar for her collection ‘AMORFO’, and the Eaftimos brand receiving the Showroom EGO New Brand award.
Additionally, the Museo del Traje, in collaboration with the Federación de Industrias del Calzado Español (FICE), will host an exhibition titled ‘La moda a tus pies’ from October 29, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The project aims to create a dialogue between historical pieces, such as Paco Rabanne’s iconic 1967 metal-plate miniskirt, and contemporary footwear design. The exhibition will function as a live intervention within the museum's permanent collection.
