Madrid invests 6 million euros in juvenile reintegration programs

The Community of Madrid has approved an investment of nearly 6 million euros to fund various day centers for the years 2027 and 2028. These resources are allocated to the Agency for the Re-education and Reintegration of Juvenile Offenders (ARRMI), which operates under the regional Ministry of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration.

In 2025, the ARRMI provided services to 2,997 juvenile offenders. Notably, 84% of these individuals were serving measures in an open environment without deprivation of liberty. The agency reported that 90% of those who pass through its facilities do not reoffend.

Regarding labor reintegration, 471 new employment contracts were formalized for juvenile offenders in 2025, marking a 2.4% increase from the previous year. The agency utilizes multidisciplinary teams, including coordinators, psychologists, educators, and intervention technicians, to oversee specialized educational programs and ensure judicial measures are met.
