Madrid social reintegration and support investments

Overview

The Community of Madrid has approved several social investment initiatives aimed at reintegration and support services.

In late September, the regional government approved nearly 6 million euros for the years 2027 and 2028 to fund day centers managed by the Agency for the Re-education and Reintegration of Juvenile Offenders (ARRMI). This funding supports specialized educational programs and multidisciplinary teams. Data from 2025 indicated that 90% of individuals passing through ARRMI facilities did not reoffend, and the agency saw a 2.4% increase in formalized employment contracts for juvenile offenders compared to the previous year.

In October, the government announced an additional investment of approximately 700,000 euros to establish a care center for adult women in prostitution. Scheduled to operate throughout 2027, the center will be managed by the Directorate General for Women and will provide social support, legal counseling, psychological assistance, and intercultural mediation to facilitate social integration and labor market entry.
