Madrid government expands AI partnership with Samsung and boosts €15 million funding for regional projects

The Community of Madrid has deepened its collaboration with Samsung Electronics Iberia to explore artificial‑intelligence applications for modernising regional administration. In a meeting in Alcobendas, Digitalisation Minister Miguel López‑Valverde and Samsung’s Spain‑Portugal vice‑president discussed use‑cases such as automatic transcription, simultaneous translation, cyber‑security tools and device management to improve public‑service efficiency.

Separately, the Ayuso administration announced a €15.2 million investment in 132 AI and advanced‑technology projects for small‑ and medium‑sized enterprises, supplemented by an additional €7 million for digital‑skills training aimed at citizens, sports organisations and vulnerable groups. Funding covers AI pilots, blockchain‑based data registries and other innovations, with grants covering up to 60 % of project costs, helping firms reduce errors and cut operating expenses.
