Madrid launches guide to 36 natural and green infrastructure sites

The Madrid City Council has introduced ‘La Guía Verde de Madrid’, a bilingual publication designed to highlight the city's natural heritage and green and blue infrastructure. The guide features 36 different locations and projects, ranging from historical parks and urban forests to green roofs and vegetation-covered facades.

Developed under the Madrid 360 Environmental Sustainability Strategy, the guide aims to promote biodiversity, climate resilience, and urban sustainability. It includes information on strategic initiatives currently in progress, such as the Bosque Metropolitano, Madrid Nuevo Norte, Parque Castellana, and the Gran Vía del Sureste.

To mark the launch, Borja Carabante, the delegate for Urbanism, Environment, and Mobility, visited a nearly 200-year-old elm tree on Paseo de la Castellana, which is featured in the guide. The document serves as a resource for both citizens and international visitors to better understand the city's ecological connectivity and environmental assets.
