Madrid municipality allocates 52 affordable homes and privatizes youth leisure service

EMVS Madrid awarded 52 affordable rental apartments to young families and individuals with medium incomes through a public lottery. More than 5,300 applicants applied; rents range between €700 and €1,000 and cannot exceed 30% of household income. The project, financed with €14.6 million, is the first EMVS building constructed with industrialised wood methods.

The council of Rivas‑Vaciamadrid decided to outsource its socio‑educational and community‑development programme for youth, which serves about 20,000 residents. A public tender resulted in a contract worth over €2 million for a one‑year term, with a possible one‑year extension, transferring the service from municipal staff to a private provider.
