Madrid renews SAMUR-PC fleet with 99 new emergency vehicles
The Madrid City Council has renewed the SAMUR-PC fleet with the addition of 99 new vehicles, including 81 ambulances and 18 rapid intervention and command vehicles. The new fleet features improved visibility, enhanced ergonomics, and redesigned interiors to facilitate the work of medical professionals.
Of the 81 new ambulances, 52 are for basic life support, 28 are for advanced life support, and one is dedicated to psychiatric transport. The design incorporates specialized compartments for medication to simplify access and replenishment, as well as improved securing systems for equipment to prevent movement during transit.
The vehicles are being integrated through a leasing contract with an annual cost of approximately 4.6 million euros. The total multi-year expenditure for the supply of these units is projected at 23.42 million euros. The renewal process included contributions from healthcare professionals to ensure the vehicles meet the practical needs of daily emergency operations.
