Madrid's Las Ventas stages headline bullfights for San Isidro Feria

The Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid opened for the San Isidro Feria on 27 May 2026, featuring a main corrida with toreros Isaac Fonseca, Morilla and Jarocho. More than 23,000 spectators attended, and organisers expect half a million visitors across the May‑June season. Tickets ranged from €48 to €244, and the event was broadcast live on the TeleMadrid platform, with on‑demand replays for a week.

Earlier in the festival, on 19 May 2026, a novillada showcased young bullfighters Pedro Luis, Mario Ávila (Vilau) and Julio Norte. The report highlighted their individual performances, including ear‑cutting feats by Mario Ávila and a notable display by Julio Norte, despite mixed animal quality.

Both events underline the cultural significance of the San Isidro bullfighting tradition in Madrid, drawing large crowds and media coverage.
