Magaly Medina criticizes Rodrigo González following public dispute

Peruvian television host Magaly Medina has publicly responded to criticisms made by presenter Rodrigo González, known as ‘Peluchín’. The dispute arose after González criticized Medina’s comments regarding the late journalist ‘La China Polo’.

Medina characterized González as a “segundón” (a second-rate person) and accused him of lacking principles. She expressed disappointment over the breakdown of their former friendship, citing a specific instance where González hosted ‘La China Polo’ to discuss matters involving Medina’s husband, Alfredo Zambrano. Medina stated that she would never have crossed such a boundary with a friend, comparing her professional conduct to her long-standing rivalry with Gisela Valcárcel, noting she never used sensitive personal matters to attack her opponent.
