Magic: The Gathering launches Hobbit set and Stardew Valley Secret Lair

Wizards of the Coast announced that the new "The Hobbit" Magic: The Gathering set will debut on 14 August 2026, featuring Tolkien icons such as Gollum, Smaug, the One Ring and a re‑print of the Arkenstone. Designers explained that the Orc leader Golfimbul was omitted because including a character named after a modern sport would break the fourth wall of the game's lore.

At MagicCon in Amsterdam the company also revealed a limited "Secret Lair x Stardew Valley" series. The three illustrated cards – “Life In Pelican Town”, “Flicker In The Deep” and “Welcome to Stardew Valley” – will go on sale on 27 July, priced at $39.99 for foil versions and $29.99 for non‑foil.
