A magnitude 4.1 earthquake was recorded just after midnight (00:08 UTC) on 25 July 2026, with its epicentre located near Pizzone in the province of Isernia, Molise. The event originated at a shallow depth of about 10 km, and a secondary tremor of magnitude 2.2 occurred at 03:41 UTC in the same area.
The main shock was felt across a wide area of central‑southern Italy, including Molise, Lazio (Ciociaria), Abruzzo, Campania and parts of the Caserta and Chieti provinces.
