Magnitude 3.9 earthquake strikes off Sicily's Aeolian Islands

Three tremors were recorded early on June 3 in the waters between Sicily and the Aeolian Islands. The strongest shock registered a magnitude of 3.9 at a depth of about 306 km offshore the archipelago, with no reports of damage or injuries. Two subsequent quakes struck the Strait of Messina at magnitudes of 2.1, originating at shallower depths of roughly 30–31 km. The events were detected by Italy's national seismic network, which continues to monitor the region for further activity.

Authorities confirmed that the seismic activity caused no harm to people or property, and the situation remains under observation.
