Maharashtra Introduces Biometric Attendance, Kerala Calls for NEET Overhaul
The Maharashtra government announced a plan to curb “dummy schooling” by installing biometric attendance systems in all junior colleges and tightening regulation of private coaching institutes, according to School Education Minister Dada Bhuse's reply in the state assembly.
In Kerala, the state assembly passed a resolution demanding comprehensive reforms of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and other all‑India entrance exams, citing paper leaks, procedural lapses and flawed mark‑evaluation. The resolution, moved by Higher Education Minister Roji M. John, was opposed by the BJP, which sought but failed to amend it.
