Maharashtra leaders address political speculation and Delhi rumors

Maharashtra political leaders have addressed recent speculation regarding internal government dynamics and future roles. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde missed a state Cabinet meeting on Tuesday to travel to Delhi, sparking rumors of friction within the ruling Mahayuti government. Shinde clarified that his trip was intended to address organizational and legal matters for the Shiv Sena, including meetings with state unit chiefs and discussions with his legal team regarding Supreme Court proceedings over the party’s election symbol.

Separately, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis dismissed rumors suggesting a move to national politics in New Delhi. Fadnavis stated that he intends to remain in Maharashtra until at least 2029, noting that while his party leadership will ultimately decide his role, he has no immediate plans to relocate to the capital. His comments follow claims by opposition leader Sanjay Raut that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the RSS are considering elevating Fadnavis to a significant role in the Union Cabinet.
