Maharashtra Public Service Commission opens Group C recruitment for 2,619 posts

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has issued a notification to fill 2,619 Group C positions, including clerk‑typist, tax assistant, assistant motor‑vehicle inspector, industry inspector and technical assistant roles. Online applications opened on 27 June 2026 and must be submitted by 23:59 IST on 17 July 2026 through the commission’s official website.

The combined preliminary examination is scheduled for 27 September 2026 and will be conducted as a computer‑based test, the first time for this recruitment. MPSC also announced that the elective‑subject paper in the Group A and Group B civil services exams will be discontinued from 2027. Eligibility criteria cover age limits (minimum 18 years, maximum 38 years for general category, 43 years for reserved categories) and required educational qualifications for each post.
