Maharashtra reports major drought losses and administrative changes

Maharashtra is facing significant economic and administrative developments. Rohit Pawar has claimed that drought conditions have caused farmers in the state losses estimated between 85,000 and 90,000 crore rupees in production costs alone.

In administrative news, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has undergone leadership changes. Satish Waghole has been given additional charge as the Chairman of the MPSC, and Saurabh Katiyar has been appointed as the new Secretary.

Regarding corruption, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken disciplinary action following a 10-crore rupee betel nut scam in Malegaon. FDA Commissioner Tukaram Munde, under the direction of Minister Narhari Zirwal, suspended five officials in connection with the scandal.

Politically, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis criticized the opposition following controversial comments regarding regime change made by lawyer Prashant Bhushan.
