Maharashtra reshuffles 12 IAS officers, appoints new heads of key agencies

The Maharashtra government carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring a dozen Indian Administrative Service officers. Senior officials Vijay Singhal and Ashwini Joshi were among those moved. Singhal, formerly Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO, was named Officer on Special Duty for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, while Joshi was transferred to become Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of the MMRDA. Other notable appointments include Prajakta Verma as Additional Municipal Commissioner of the BMC, P Velrasu as Secretary (Forest) in the Revenue and Forest Department, Deependra Singh Kushwah as CEO of MIDC, and Ashwin Mudgal as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO. Kadambari Balkawade and Sanjay Katkar were shifted to senior roles in the Directorate of Industries and the National Health Mission, respectively. Four officers handling tribal‑development projects were reassigned as CEOs of Zilla Parishads in Gondia, Akola, Jalna and Chandrapur districts.

In a related announcement, six IAS officers were transferred and former DGP Rashmi Shukla, along with OP Gupta and Suvarna Kevale, were appointed as members of the state Lokayukta, aiming to strengthen anti‑corruption oversight.
