Mahindra launches BE 6 Sporteq electric SUV with AI and BaaS pricing
Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced the BE 6 Sporteq, a new electric SUV series featuring advanced artificial intelligence and a unique pricing model. To lower the initial purchase cost, the company is offering a ‘Battery as a Service’ (BaaS) option. Under this plan, the vehicle's entry price is reduced to ₹11.45 lakh, with customers paying a usage fee of ₹3.75 per kilometer for the 59kWh lithium iron phosphate battery.
The BaaS model requires an eight-year commitment with a minimum usage of 1,800km per month. At the end of the term, users can choose to continue renting, pay the residual value for full ownership, or opt out by paying the calculated remainder.
Technologically, the Sporteq range features a three-screen digital cockpit and is powered by the Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture (MAIA). This includes ‘Teq_Talk’, a conversational system integrated with Google Gemini that utilizes 17 specialized AI agents to manage vehicle controls, navigation, and entertainment. Other features include in-car gaming, karaoke, and Dolby Atmos audio. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on August 26, 2026.
