Mahindra expands SUV, EV, and pickup vehicle lineups

Overview

Mahindra has expanded its vehicle portfolio through several key launches and unveilings. The company introduced the 2026 Scorpio N facelift in India, priced at an ex-showroom ₹13.69 lakh. While retaining its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, the facelift adds a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, and a 540-degree surround-view camera. The top-spec Z8L variant includes Level-2 ADAS features.

In the electric vehicle sector, Mahindra has launched the BE 6 Sporteq SUV. To lower initial purchase costs, the company offers a ‘Battery as a Service’ (BaaS) option, reducing the entry price to ₹11.45 lakh for the 59kWh battery, with a usage fee of ₹3.75 per kilometer under an eight-year commitment. The Sporteq range features the Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture (MAIA), including ‘Teq_Talk’, a conversational system integrated with Google Gemini. The vehicle is available in various editions, including a ‘Batman Edition’ and a ‘Formula E Edition’, with a 79kWh variant offering a MIDC range of up to 682km. Mahindra has since expanded the BaaS program to its entire Electric Origin SUV lineup, including the XEV 9S and XEV 9e.

The XEV 9S has expanded its offerings to include a 6-seater configuration with a 2+2+2 layout on higher-spec models. Additionally, Mahindra has unveiled the Scorpio Lifestyler, a production-ready lifestyle pickup truck based on the Scorpio-N platform. Designed to succeed the Scorpio Getaway, the vehicle will offer petrol and diesel powertrains with both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations. In India, it is expected to launch by April 2027 with prices starting below ₹19.79 lakh, while it will be marketed in international markets including Australia, South Africa, and Brazil. The truck is available in Valley, Reef, and Trail editions.
