Mahindra launches Thar OG off-road SUV in India

Mahindra has launched the Thar OG, an updated version of its popular off-road SUV in the Indian market. Built on the new MGlyde 4G platform derived from the Thar Roxx, the vehicle features improved ground clearance of 232mm and updated suspension technology.

The lineup is divided into three primary variants: AXT, LXT, and ZXT. The base AXT model starts at approximately Rs 10.32 lakh, while the top-tier ZXT reaches nearly Rs 18.99 lakh. The ZXT trim offers premium features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, wireless charging, and six airbags, whereas the AXT is more basic, featuring halogen lights, 16-inch steel wheels, and only two airbags.

Engine options include a 2.0L turbo petrol producing 162hp and a 2.2L diesel engine delivering 152hp, both with 330Nm of torque. Transmission choices consist of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic, with 4x4 capabilities and specialized terrain modes for mud, sand, and snow. The interior includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen in the LXT and ZXT models, along with updated safety features like electronic locking differentials and all-round disc brakes on higher trims.
