Mahindra launches Thar OG SUV in India starting at ₹10.32 lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra has officially launched the Thar OG, a redesigned three-door lifestyle SUV in the Indian market. Starting at an ex-showroom price of ₹10.32 lakh, the new model succeeds the 2020 generation with significant upgrades to its platform, suspension, and steering systems.

The vehicle is built on the M_Glyde 4G platform and features improvements in NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) levels. It is available in three trim levels: AXT, LXT, and ZXT. Engine options include a 1.5-liter diesel, a 2.0-liter petrol, and a 2.2-liter diesel unit. Transmission choices range from 6-speed manuals to 6-speed automatics for larger engines.

Key design and feature updates include LED headlamps with C-shaped DRLs, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a premium cabin with leatherette seating. Safety and off-road capabilities are enhanced through features such as electronic locking differentials, terrain modes (Mud, Sand, and Snow), and up to six airbags in higher trims. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin on October 11, 2026.
