Mahindra launches updated three-door Thar OG in India

Mahindra has officially launched the updated three-door Thar OG in India, with prices starting at ₹10.32 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model features significant mechanical and design upgrades aimed at improving both off-road capability and daily driving comfort.

Key technical enhancements include the adoption of the M-Glyde 4G platform for increased structural stiffness and the replacement of hydraulic steering with electric power steering. The suspension system has been revised to include a rear Pentalink setup with a Watts Link and, in certain variants, DAVINCI frequency-dependent damping to improve ride quality.

The Thar OG offers three engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol producing 162 hp and 330 Nm of torque, a 2.2-litre diesel producing 152 hp and 330 Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel. Safety features have been bolstered with six airbags as standard, four-wheel disc brakes, and an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) suite including roll-over mitigation and traction control.

Visually, the SUV features a redesigned grille with 'Thar' branding, new LED headlamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, and updated interior upholstery in Truffle Brown leatherette. The vehicle remains a body-on-frame, four-wheel-drive SUV, offering both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and 4x4 configurations.
