India's electric commercial vehicle sector sees growth and expansion

India's electric commercial vehicle sector is seeing significant growth through manufacturing expansion, sales milestones, and new leasing partnerships.

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited has become the first commercial EV manufacturer in India to reach 400,000 cumulative sales. Its fleet, including the Treo and Zor Grand ranges, has covered over 9 billion kilometers and avoided approximately 185,000 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions. The company aims to deploy one million EVs by 2031.

Euler Motors has expanded its manufacturing footprint in Palwal, Haryana, with a ₹100 crore investment. The 40-acre facility has an annual capacity of 24,000 vehicles and features automated assembly lines for its four-wheeler portfolio, including the Turbo EV 1000 and Storm EV.

Additionally, Drivn has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tata Motors to provide customized leasing solutions for electric commercial vehicles. The partnership aims to facilitate the deployment of over 1,000 electric trucks for fleet operators over the next two years by addressing financing and infrastructure barriers.
