Mahindra to launch new SUV on India's Independence Day
Mahindra & Mahindra plans to unveil a new SUV on 15 August, aligning the launch with India's Independence Day. The vehicle is expected to be a facelift of the Scorpio-N model, featuring a redesigned front grille, LED headlamps, upgraded interior materials, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, a 360‑degree camera and Level‑2 ADAS safety technology. Engine options are reported to include a 2.0‑litre petrol and a 2.2‑litre diesel, offered with both manual and automatic transmissions.
At the same time, MG Motor is preparing to introduce its own premium 7‑seater SUV in August. Built on the MG Adapt platform, the electric model will house a 69 kWh battery delivering up to 210 bhp and an estimated range of around 600 km on a full charge. Both manufacturers aim to capture demand for larger family SUVs in the Indian market, intensifying competition in the midsize and premium segments.
