Mahindra unveils new SUV lineup and updates to Thar and Scorpio‑N
Mahindra announced plans to launch three new SUVs in India by March 2027. The lineup includes an updated Scorpio‑N facelift expected around Diwali 2026, which will add a dual‑pane panoramic sunroof, 10.25‑inch floating touchscreen, 10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster with ADAS alerts, a 360‑degree camera and blind‑view monitor. Mechanical specifications such as the 2.0‑litre turbo‑petrol and 2.2‑litre turbo‑diesel engines will remain unchanged.
The three‑door Thar is also due for a refresh, borrowing styling cues from the five‑door Roxx version, with circular LED headlamps, a new grille, updated alloy wheels and larger LED taillamps. Inside, a larger 10.25‑inch touchscreen, an auto‑dimming rear‑view mirror and a centre armrest are expected, while core off‑road capability and engine options stay the same.
Mahindra’s new Vision S compact SUV targets a sub‑Rs 10 lakh price point. Built on the NU_IQ modular platform, it will launch with a 1.5‑litre diesel engine, and future petrol, hybrid and electric variants are planned.
A recent model comparison highlighted the Thar Roxx and Scorpio‑N top‑spec diesel automatic versions, both powered by a 2.2‑litre mHawk engine delivering 172 bhp. The Thar Roxx offers 370 Nm of torque, while the Scorpio‑N provides 400 Nm. Feature differences include the Thar Roxx’s dual 10.25‑inch displays, panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS versus the Scorpio‑N’s 8‑inch infotainment screen and larger three‑row cabin. Prices start at Rs 22.81 lakh for the Thar Roxx and Rs 24.95 lakh for the Scorpio‑N.
