Mašić proposes wage and pension increases in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Mašić has outlined a political agenda focused on improving living standards and economic resilience in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A primary goal is to increase the minimum wage to 1,500 KM and the minimum pension to 1,000 KM in the upcoming mandate.

To ensure wage increases are not offset by inflation, Mašić proposes systemic consumer protections. This includes the legal establishment of a ‘protected consumer basket’ containing at least 200 basic products, such as bread, milk, oil, medicine, and baby food, with mandatory public price reporting by the government.

The strategy emphasizes protecting small employers and reducing labor costs. Mašić noted that in the Federation of BiH, the minimum wage has previously risen from under 596 KM to 1,027 KM, accompanied by a reduction in total contribution rates from 41.5 to 36 percent. Additionally, pensions saw a 15.08 percent increase in 2026 through a new adjustment model.
