Tarn excavations resume to find Delphine Aussaguel's remains
Police have resumed excavations in the Mailhoc area of the Tarn department to search for additional remains of Delphine Aussaguel. The searches follow the recent confession of her husband, Cédric Jubillar, who admitted to strangling his wife in December 2020 after years of denial.
Investigators are working to locate further skeletal fragments, specifically aiming to find the skull, which could provide critical evidence regarding the cause of death. These efforts are part of a supplementary investigation ordered following Jubillar's admission that he buried her body in a field near their former home in Cagnac-les-Mines.
A crime reenactment is scheduled for Friday. This procedure will involve the accused demonstrating his version of the events at the family home to determine if his new testimony is consistent with the physical evidence. Jubillar, who was previously sentenced to 30 years in prison, is set to face an appeal trial in Toulouse between April 30 and May 14, 2027.
