Maiori-Minori tunnel project to undergo technical review

Tullio Ferrante, Undersecretary for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (Mit), has announced plans to establish a technical committee to address mobility issues on the Amalfi Coast. The initiative aims to clarify the status of the Maiori-Minori tunnel project, which has reached an advanced design stage but still requires essential environmental and administrative authorizations.

The proposed committee will include representatives from Anas, the Campania Region, and local municipal administrations. This effort is part of a broader maintenance and safety program for the SS163 highway, for which Anas has allocated approximately 18.5 million euros, in addition to specific investments for the tunnel project.

Furthermore, Ferrante emphasized the need for the Campania Region to define the boundaries and access criteria for the Amalfi Coast's territorial Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) to improve traffic flow without negatively impacting residents, workers, or local businesses.
