Mairiporã reports 9.9% drop in crime indicators for 2026
Mairiporã recorded a 9.9% decrease in major criminal indicators in 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. According to data from the São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP), total occurrences fell from 1,145 to 1,032.
The most significant declines were observed in general robberies, which dropped by 51.8%, and vehicle robberies, which decreased by 40.9%. Cargo theft also saw a 60% reduction. Intentional homicides fell by half, from six cases in 2025 to three in 2026. Additionally, sexual crimes, specifically rapes, decreased by 14.3%.
In contrast to the general downward trend, general thefts saw a slight increase of 2.3%, rising from 518 to 530 occurrences, while vehicle thefts remained stable at 54 cases.
