Data from the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup) indicates that between 2018 and September 2026, there was a 56.58% reduction in Lethal and Intentional Violent Crimes (CVLI), a category encompassing homicide, robbery resulting in death, and bodily injury followed by death.

In September 2026, the state recorded 140 CVLI cases, representing a 17.65% decrease from the 170 cases recorded in September 2025. When compared to September 2018, which saw 332 cases, the reduction for that specific month stands at 56.83%. Segup officials stated that these figures represent the “preservation of 1,753 lives over the seven-year period.”
