Family and demographic issues highlighted at regional festivals and European congress
Various regional and international events focused on family values and demographic challenges have taken place. In Serbia, the ninth Children's Festival at Oplenac drew approximately 45,000 visitors. Organized by the Koreni Foundation under the patronage of Prince Mihail and Princess Ljubica Karađorđević, the event featured 120 activities designed to promote quality family time through nature, science, and traditional crafts.
In Perlez, Serbia, the sixth annual ‘Family Days’ manifestation was opened by Maja Gojković, President of the Provincial Government. The event emphasized the importance of institutional support for families, focusing on creating conditions for young people to build lives and raise children within their local communities through improved education, healthcare, and employment.
In Dubrovnik, Croatia, the III European Congress of Families, organized by the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Party, gathered representatives from over 20 countries. The congress addressed Europe’s ‘demographic winter,’ with political figures like Nikola Grmoja and Igor Štimac calling for sovereignist policies and unified action to combat demographic decline and support family stability.
