Explosion and fire injure three people in a Timișoara apartment

Around 05:50 a.m. on Saturday, an explosion occurred in a ground‑floor apartment on Versului Street in Timișoara. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and ventilated the stairwell. Three adults were treated on‑site for injuries and remained conscious. A total of 43 residents were evacuated from the four‑storey building, either by self‑evacuation or with the assistance of emergency crews. The incident was investigated by fire‑service units, a SMURD medical team, a CBRN unit and a multi‑person transport ambulance. Preliminary checks indicated no gas leaks and attributed the explosion to an electric scooter.

The response involved multiple fire trucks, a command vehicle, two water‑foam units, and additional specialist teams. No further injuries were reported, and the fire was contained before spreading to upper floors.
