Major General Al-Khoulani killed in clashes with Houthis in Taiz

Major General Mohammed Salem Abdullah Al-Khoulani, the Chief of Staff of the Emergency Forces under Yemen's Ministry of Interior, was killed during clashes with Houthi forces at the Al-Kadha front in the Taiz governorate.

Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Ali Haidan issued a statement describing the death as a “heavy loss for the security institution.” The minister praised Al-Khoulani’s leadership and professionalism, stating that his sacrifice would increase the determination of government forces to continue fighting the Houthi militia.

His death occurs amid a significant military escalation in Taiz, particularly in the Al-Kadha, Jabal Habashi, Maqbanah, and Al-Misrakh fronts. This surge in fighting represents the broadest escalation since the relative calm following the April 2022 truce.
