MakeMyTrip Q1 Profit Falls 65% Amid Revenue Growth

MakeMyTrip reported a sharp decline in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, with earnings plunging 65% year‑over‑year to $9.1 million from $25.8 million. Revenue rose 6% to $285.6 million, and total income reached $285.9 million after including other income. The company attributed the weaker profit to macro‑economic headwinds, including the West Asia conflict that dampened outbound international travel, a more than 10% depreciation of the Indian rupee, higher fuel and aviation turbine costs, and a surge in net finance costs to $28.3 million. Despite these pressures, domestic leisure demand remained resilient, and gross bookings grew 19.9% in constant currency to $2.85 billion. CEO Rajesh Magow highlighted the strength of the diversified travel platform, while CFO Dipak Bohra noted stable operating margins across hotels, packages and bus‑ticketing segments.
