Makiko Nakajima to perform theme song for Armored Trooper VOTOMS film

Singer and actress Mika Nakajima will perform the theme song ‘Na mo naki poet no you ni’ for the new animated film ‘Armored Trooper VOTOS: Hex,’ directed by Mamoru Oshii. The track was written, composed, and arranged by Toshihiko Takamizawa of the rock band THE ALFEE.

The film, produced by Sunrise as part of its 50th-anniversary celebrations, is a new installment in the classic real-robot anime series. Set during the final stages of a century-long war between the Gilgames and Ballant forces, the story follows a soldier known as the ‘Witch,’ Ash Vamp, and an officer, Maki Stauffenberg, who investigates her.

New visual assets and mechanical details have been released, including the Ballant military’s ‘Fatty’ mid-class Armored Trooper. The film is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release in Japan on November 20, with a stage greeting featuring director Mamoru Oshii and cast members Miyuki Sawashiro and Asuka Ando. The theme song will be available for digital streaming on November 20 and as a CD single on November 25.
