Armored Trooper VOTOMS film production details

Overview

Details have emerged regarding the upcoming two-part animated film series, ‘Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Die Graue Hexe’. Directed by Mamoru Oshii and produced by Sunrise, the film is set during the final stages of the Hundred Years War between the Gilgames and Ballant forces on the planet Valkyria II.

The plot focuses on officer Maki Stauffenberg as she investigates Ash Vamp, a soldier known as ‘the Witch’ due to her survival in high-risk missions. Promotional materials have released new visual assets, including the Ballant military’s ‘Fatty’ mid-class Armored Trooper.

Mika Nakajima is set to perform the official theme song, ‘Na mo naki poet no you ni’, which was written, composed, and arranged by Toshihiko Takamizawa of the band THE ALFEE. The first part of the film is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release in Japan on November 20, with the theme song arriving via digital streaming on the same day and as a CD single on November 25.
