TEKNOFEST Swarm UAV Competition concludes in Gaziantep

The Swarm UAV Competition, held as part of TEKNOFEST 2026, concluded with an award ceremony at Yeşilkent Stadium in Gaziantep. Managed by HAVELSAN, the event took place from September 7 to 11 and featured 19 teams from various provinces across Turkey.

Key award winners included Kılavuz Sarsılmaz for ‘Most Original Design’, ATÜ FlyLab for ‘Most Original Software’, and the Kökbörü team for ‘Best Team Spirit’. Approximately 160 young participants took part in the five-day competition, which aimed to test design and software skills in real-world conditions.

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin and Governor Kemal Çeber presented the awards. During the ceremony, Mayor Şahin praised the participants, comparing them to scientific pioneers like Newton and Edison, and emphasized the importance of building infrastructure for domestic UAV production.
