Malatya Culture Route Festival showcases music and heritage
The Malatya Culture Route Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, continues with a diverse program of musical performances, exhibitions, and educational activities.
On the third day of the festival, rock musician Kıraç performed a concert at the 100. Yıl Kent Parkı, featuring popular songs such as ‘Yalan’. The event drew crowds of various ages and is part of a broader series of festivals across Turkey that aim to stimulate regional economies and tourism. According to Ministry data, these festivals hosted over 22 million visitors throughout 2025.
The fourth day of the festival focused on cultural heritage and education. The ‘Living Heritage: Malatya Exhibition’ at the Malatya Congress and Culture Center showcased traditional crafts including beadwork, woodworking, leatherworking, and instrument making. Additionally, a leather processing workshop explored the historical development of Turkish leather arts from Central Asian nomadic roots to Ottoman-era craftsmanship. For younger attendees, the ‘Tales from Ninem Korkut’ event at the 100. Yıl Public Library introduced children to literature and values education through storytelling.
