Malaysia and China Launch 2026 Cross‑Border Tourism Promotion Events

The Jiangsu provincial culture and tourism department, together with the Jiangsu Tourism (Southeast Asia) Promotion Center and Malaysia’s tourism association, hosted the “New Experience, Heart Encounter” 2026 Water‑Rhythm Jiangsu (Kuala Lumpur) tourism promotion in Kuala Lumpur. More than 40 Malaysian travel agencies, airlines and media attended. The event showcased Jiangsu’s cultural and tourism assets, unveiled five themed tour routes and introduced visitor‑friendly measures such as free entry communication cards, instant tax refunds, luggage delivery and multilingual ticketing.

Separately, Tourism Malaysia partnered with Singapore’s Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel to stage “Flavours of Malaysia” from 1 June to 12 July 2026. The culinary showcase features ten‑hand dining by five master chefs representing Johor, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and Sarawak, aiming to boost interest in Malaysian gastronomy among Singaporean and international guests.

Both initiatives are part of the broader “Visit Malaysia 2026” campaign, seeking to expand inbound tourism to Malaysia and promote regional cultural exchange.
