Visit Malaysia 2026 cultural festivals
Overview
Malaysia’s Visit Malaysia Year 2026 programme continued to diversify its appeal in July‑August 2026. After Japan Expo Malaysia (24‑26 July) and the Art of Speed festival (1‑2 August), the country added Invest Fair 2026, a two‑day retail‑investment exhibition that opened on 18 July at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur. Led by Bursa Malaysia CEO Dato’ Fad’l Mohamed, the fair expected around 20,000 visitors, featured more than 100 speakers and over 40 exhibitors, and offered 70 hours of talks on equities, ETFs, REITs, bonds, sukuk, fintech, AI, sustainable investing and wealth planning. Interactive elements such as the “Duit Fest” Golden Ball Pit Challenge and a Pickleball Bull League complemented the financial focus.
In the same period, Malaysia Fest 2026 was staged at Singapore Expo Hall 5A & 5B from 30 July to 2 August, organized by MegaXpress International. The four‑day showcase presented Malaysian food, fashion, beauty and tourism, highlighting Johor, Sabah and Terengganu, with over 340 stalls offering specialties such as Sarawak longan crystals, Sabah lime and Penang char kuetiau. Tourism Malaysia and partner agencies promoted travel packages alongside traditional crafts and clothing. Concurrently, Sarawak’s tourism board launched the AXN Ultimate Challenge series, inviting visitors to try local experiences like eating sago worms and using traditional chopsticks, emphasizing the state’s natural scenery and indigenous culture. These cross‑border cultural events reinforced the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 agenda of broadening Malaysia’s cultural footprint and diversifying attractions for regional and international tourists.
