Malaysia and Indonesia enhance cultural and academic ties through educational exchanges

Educational institutions from Malaysia and Indonesia are conducting collaborative programs to strengthen academic, cultural, and vocational ties between the two nations.

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) recently held the ‘Narasi Nusantara’ program in Bandung. The 14-day initiative involved 22 UPM students and 15 UPI students, focusing on Malay language, literature, and Nusantara cultural heritage through academic activities and community service to prepare future educators.

Additionally, Kolej Komuniti Sabak Bernam (KKSB) partnered with Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 9 Bandung for the ‘Batik Beyond Borders’ program. This initiative focused on textile heritage, allowing students to explore the unique characteristics of Malaysian and Indonesian batik. The program aimed to enhance technical and vocational education and training (TVET) ecosystems by fostering creative and innovative approaches to traditional designs.
