Malaysia and Indonesia Roll Out Youth Housing Finance Schemes
Malaysia's Lembaga Pembiayaan Perumahan Sektor Awam (LPPSA) introduced the Skim Pembiayaan Perumahan Muda (SPPM) for public‑servant employees aged 30 or younger. Announced in the 2025 budget, the scheme offers loans of up to 40 years, with repayments spread over a maximum of 480 months, and is intended to boost first‑home ownership among young civil servants. The programme takes effect on 1 April 2025 and accepts applications until 31 December 2026.
In Indonesia, the Danantara Housing Expo 2026 was presented as an inclusive platform to expand affordable‑home options for Gen Z and millennial buyers. Organized by Danantara Indonesia, the expo brings together state‑owned enterprises, developers, banks and insurers to showcase financing schemes aligned with the government’s “Three Million Homes” initiative. CEO Rosan Roeslani highlighted the event’s role in linking prospective buyers with competitive loan products and broader housing‑policy goals.
