Malaysia announces initiatives for 2026 National Day celebrations

Various initiatives have been announced to celebrate Malaysia's National Day and Malaysia Day in 2026 under the theme “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”.

Key programs include a 10GB free internet data incentive provided by the Ministry of Communications in collaboration with CelcomDigi, Maxis, TM, U Mobile, and YES. The data will be distributed in two phases: 5GB on August 31 and 5GB on September 16.

Additionally, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is offering electricity rebates for commercial premises that install decorative lighting between August and September 2026. Some local authorities, such as the Temerloh Municipal Council, are also offering discounts of up to 80% on certain compounds during the national month.
